Common questions
Will this tape work with my existing tape dispenser on the packing line?
Yes. The 3M 471 comes on a standard 3-inch core compatible with nearly all commercial tape dispensers used in packing operations. If you use a specialty dispenser, verify your core size before ordering.
How does clear vinyl tape improve my case sealing process compared to standard tan tape?
Clear tape allows quality control and visual inspection of sealed carton contents without opening boxes, reducing errors and customer complaints. The 5.2 mil vinyl is thicker and more durable than standard tape, providing better resistance to moisture, abrasion, and chemical exposure, critical for long shelf life and transit protection.
Can this tape handle moisture and chemical exposure in harsh warehouse conditions?
Absolutely. The durable vinyl backing resists moisture, weathering, acids, and alkaline chemicals, making it ideal for cold storage, wet environments, and industrial facilities. The rubber adhesive remains effective even in humidity and temperature fluctuations common in warehouse operations.
What's the shelf life and storage best practice for maintaining adhesion on my packing line?
3M 471 vinyl tape maintains full adhesive performance for 12+ months when stored at room temperature (65-75°F) and 40-60% humidity. Keep rolls in original packaging away from direct heat and sunlight. Rotate stock regularly (FIFO) to ensure consistent dispenser feed and sealing performance.
