Common questions
Will this tape work with both kraft paper and plastic films without changing products?
Yes. The 3M 9458 is specifically formulated for both high and low surface energy materials, eliminating the need to stock separate tapes for kraft, plastic, or coated substrates. This reduces inventory complexity and dispenser changeovers on your packing line.
Is this compatible with standard manual tape dispensers?
Yes. The 3-inch cardboard core fits all commercial hand roll dispensers and bench-mounted applicators. The 4 1/4" width accommodates standard dispenser rollers without requiring adapter clips.
How does the 1.0 mil thickness impact case sealing performance?
The thin 1.0 mil gauge provides conformability to uneven surfaces and paper textures common in case sealing, while the high-tack acrylic ensures immediate grab and permanent bonds. This minimizes edge lifting and delamination during transit and stacking.
What is the shelf life and storage requirement for these rolls?
Store in a cool, dry environment (60 - 80°F, <50% RH) away from direct sunlight. Properly stored rolls maintain full adhesion for 12+ months. The kraft paper liner protects against UV degradation and moisture absorption.
