About this item

1 in x 5 yd gray VHB 4646 foam tape. Keeps cartons closed from packing bench to doorstep. Also called packing tape, carton sealing tape, or box tape. Common questions
Will this tape work with my existing tape dispenser?
Yes. The 3M™ 4646 VHB™ Tape winds on a standard core compatible with most commercial tape dispensers used in packing facilities. Verify your dispenser's core size specifications before ordering.
How long does the adhesive bond take to cure, and does it affect line speed?
The acrylic foam achieves initial set within 24 hours and full bond strength within 72 hours. For production applications, allow components to set in staging before moving to high-vibration zones. This doesn't impact case sealing speed since bonding occurs during assembly, not on the conveyor.
Can this tape handle temperature swings on heated case sealers?
Absolutely. The -31°F to 300°F temperature range exceeds most packing line conditions. The permanent acrylic adhesive maintains bond integrity on heated surfaces and survives refrigerated storage areas without degradation.
Is this tape suitable for high-moisture or outdoor storage areas?
Yes. The 3M™ 4646 VHB™ Tape resists moisture, UV exposure, and industrial solvents, making it ideal for damp warehouse zones, refrigerated environments, and equipment exposed to cleaning agents or humidity fluctuations.
