Common questions
Will this tape work with our existing tape dispenser equipment?
Yes. The 1" width and standard roll format are compatible with most industrial tape dispensers used in packing operations. The black acrylic foam backing feeds smoothly without snagging, and the conformable material adapts to varying dispenser core diameters, verify your dispenser's maximum width rating (standard is 2" minimum).
How does VHB tape compare to traditional adhesive or bolted seals?
3M 5962 VHB eliminates fastener holes that weaken equipment and reduce downtime from bolt loosening. The permanent, non-removable bond distributes stress more evenly than point fasteners, improving case seal consistency. It bonds immediately without curing time, keeping your line moving.
Can this tape handle the temperature swings in our facility?
Absolutely. The -40°F to 250°F operating range covers most industrial packing environments. The acrylic foam construction maintains flexibility and bond strength across this entire range, preventing brittle failure in cold storage areas or near heat sources.
How does the conformable foam improve our case sealing performance?
The 62-mil acrylic foam molds to irregular surfaces and core imperfections, ensuring full contact area for consistent adhesion. This eliminates air pockets that cause premature seal failure and reduces case rejects from poor tape-to-surface contact on worn or misaligned equipment.
