Common questions
Will this VHB tape work on our existing tape dispenser?
Yes, the 3" core is compatible with standard industrial tape dispensers used in most packing lines. Verify your dispenser accepts 1/2" width rolls; this tape feeds smoothly on both manual and automated systems without slippage.
How does VHB tape compare to liquid adhesives for case sealing?
3M™ VHB™ Tape replaces liquid adhesives with zero curing time, eliminating production delays and environmental cleanup. It provides consistent bond strength on first application, eliminates fumes, and creates cleaner carton exteriors, ideal for high-speed packing operations where speed and reliability matter.
Is this tape resistant to moisture and temperature fluctuations?
Absolutely. The clear acrylic adhesive resists moisture, UV exposure, and solvents across a -40°F to 300°F operational range, making it suitable for cold-storage shipments, outdoor warehousing, and temperature-variable environments without bond degradation.
Can I use this on textured or uneven cardboard surfaces?
VHB tape performs best on smooth, flat metal and clean cardboard surfaces for maximum adhesion. For textured cardboard, ensure the application area is clean and dry; pre-pressing the tape firmly for 10-30 seconds optimizes bond formation. For rough surfaces, consult the technical data sheet or contact support for alternative solutions.
