Uline Bubble Mailer Alternatives: Fit, Padding & Case Counts

Catalog evidence reviewed October 2, 2026 · U.S. packaging buyers

Compare Uline bubble mailer alternatives by the packed item, the lining and the number of mailers you need. Packrift’s two options below are white, self-seal, bubble-lined poly mailers in different dimensions and case counts. Start with a format that fits your product and preserves the protection your packing process requires.

Keep the padding requirement in the comparison

Record the Uline model you currently order and what goes inside it, including any box, insert or separate wrap. A bubble-lined mailer has a different construction from a plain poly shipping bag. If your current pack-out depends on a bubble lining, keep that feature on the replacement checklist.

The two Packrift candidates here have a poly exterior and bubble lining. If your approved mailer uses kraft, an all-paper construction or a special closure, treat that as a separate requirement. A similar printed size does not establish the same material or protection. For the broader film-mailer decision, see our Uline poly mailer alternatives.

Check fit with the item already packed

Check What to compare What to do before switching
Usable space Listed dimensions and whether they describe the exterior or usable interior Include the item’s thickness, inserts, seams and flap in a physical fit check.
Lining and exterior Bubble lining and the required outer material Preserve the construction your approved pack-out needs.
Closure Self-seal, heat-seal or another specified closure Confirm the flap closes normally with the packed item inside.
Protection requirement The item and its existing packing specification Keep any required inserts and validate the complete package.
Order quantity Mailers per case and total shipments to cover Calculate whole cases of the chosen format before comparing delivered cost.

Do not subtract a fixed amount from every supplier’s listed dimensions to estimate the interior. The records used below do not establish an identical measurement convention across brands. Ask for the usable dimensions when fit is close, then check the actual item and its normal inserts.

For a concrete measurement example, Uline’s purple 6 × 10 inch poly bubble mailer, S-22402PUR, lists usable dimensions of 5⅞ × 8¾ inches and 250 mailers per case. Those are the measurements for that specific colored Uline product, not usable dimensions for either Packrift candidate below. Match the actual interior fit and the required color and construction before selecting a replacement.

Two Packrift bubble-mailer formats to evaluate

These are distinct candidate formats, not a model cross-reference. Both catalog listings specify white, self-seal, bubble-lined poly mailers. Follow the product links for current pricing and availability.

Packrift option Listed dimensions Construction and closure Mailers per case
B831 — bubble-lined poly mailers 6.5 × 10 in White poly; bubble-lined; self-seal 250
B827 — bubble-lined poly mailers 7.25 × 8 in White poly; bubble-lined; self-seal 200

B827 is wider and shorter by the listed measurements; B831 is narrower and longer. Neither is the larger option in every dimension. Choose by the complete packed item rather than by the case price or a mailer size name.

Turn the shipment count into whole cases

For 1,000 shipments, B831 requires four 250-count cases; B827 requires five 200-count cases. For 600 shipments, three cases of B831 provide 750 mailers, while three cases of B827 provide 600. That difference affects the amount purchased and the stock left after the run. It does not make the two sizes interchangeable.

Once a format passes your packing check, compare merchandise, shipping and required delivery charges for the actual case order. Divide the delivered total by the number of mailers purchased, and keep any separate cushioning in the calculation. Treat tax consistently. Use the Uline shipping-cost worksheet to compare the same destination and receiving requirements.

Make the switch on an accepted pack-out

Pack a representative item with the inserts your team normally uses. Check the opening, usable space, closure and label placement. Validate handling and transit performance to the standard your product requires before changing a recurring order. If the candidate cannot meet that requirement, keep the approved packaging.

Record the accepted SKU and case count so the reorder repeats the same format. For a wider supplier comparison, visit our Uline alternatives guide.

Questions before switching

Can a plain poly mailer replace a bubble mailer?

Only if your complete packing method still meets the item’s protection requirements. A plain film bag does not supply a bubble lining. Keep the lining or other required cushioning in the specification and validate any change.

Are 6.5 × 10 and 7.25 × 8 inch mailers interchangeable?

No. One listed format is narrower and longer; the other is wider and shorter. Confirm usable dimensions and try the actual packed item before selecting a replacement.

How many cases do I need for 1,000 mailers?

Four cases of B831 at 250 per case or five cases of B827 at 200 per case provide 1,000 mailers. Choose the suitable format first, then compare the delivered cost of that case quantity.
