Common questions
What is ECT-32 and how does it perform in stacking applications?
ECT (Edge Crush Test) 32 means the box withstands 32 lbs of crushing force per linear inch of edge. For typical warehouse stacking (4-6 boxes high on standard pallets), ECT-32 delivers reliable performance and meets ISTA standards for standard-duty shipments.
Can I stack these boxes on a pallet, and what's the maximum safe height?
Yes. On a standard 40x48" pallet, you can safely stack ECT-32 boxes 5-6 high depending on product weight and humidity conditions. Always consider actual load weight per box when calculating stack limits. Test stacks recommended for heavy items.
How does this box size optimize freight efficiency?
The 14 x 12 x 12" dimension is engineered to maximize pallet utilization, typically fitting 40-45 boxes per pallet. This reduces LTL shipping costs and increases margin per shipment compared to oversized boxes with excess void fill.
Is this box suitable for hazardous materials or temperature-sensitive items?
ECT-32 kraft is suitable for standard dry goods and non-hazmat items. For hazardous materials, temperature control, or moisture-sensitive products, consider upgrading to ECT-40 or requesting specialized liners and desiccant options.
