Common questions
What temperature settings work best for this 75-gauge PVC shrink film?
Reynolon® 5044 requires moderate heat application (typically 250-350°F depending on your shrink wrap equipment). Always reference the technical data sheet and test on sample products first to achieve wrinkle-free results. Heat guns are available separately to complement your application.
Is this shrink film suitable for food packaging?
No. Reynolon® 5044 is specifically formulated for non-food industrial packaging applications. For food-grade requirements, consult with Packrift about alternative solutions.
How long does a 500-foot roll typically last in production?
Longevity depends on product size and your production speed. A 500-foot roll wrapping small items (2-4 inches) may cover 500+ units, while larger products consume more footage. Calculate based on your specific wrapping dimensions for accurate usage projections.
What makes the center-fold configuration beneficial?
Center-fold design ensures even shrinkage, reduces wrinkles, and simplifies loading onto standard shrink wrap equipment. The film naturally separates at the fold, providing consistent width for uniform product presentation and faster changeovers between jobs.
