Common questions
What is ECT-32 and why does it matter for my shipping operation?
ECT (Edge Crush Test) 32 indicates the carton can withstand 32 pounds of force per inch of edge length. This single-wall construction balances strength with cost efficiency, making it ideal for mid-weight items (5 - 15 lbs). It provides excellent stacking performance for warehouse operations without the added expense of double-wall materials.
How does the long-side opening reduce packing time compared to top-load boxes?
The 18" long opening runs the full length of the carton, allowing pickers to load elongated items directly without rotating or repositioning. This linear loading eliminates repositioning steps, reducing pack labor by 30 - 40% and improving throughput during peak seasons.
Will these boxes stack reliably in a racking system?
Yes. ECT-32 kraft corrugated provides sufficient crush strength for stacking 4 - 6 boxes high on standard shelving when properly supported. However, stack height depends on product weight and storage duration. We recommend testing your specific load configuration.
Are these boxes compatible with standard packing tape and labeling systems?
Absolutely. The kraft corrugated surface accepts pressure-sensitive tape, thermal labels, and printed barcodes without issue. The flat, smooth kraft exterior ensures consistent barcode scanning and professional appearance during shipment.
