Common questions
What does ECT-32 mean and why does it matter for my shipping operation?
ECT (Edge Crush Test) 32 indicates the box can withstand 32 pounds of force per linear inch, standard strength for most B2B and e-commerce applications. This rating ensures reliable stacking performance in warehouses and transit without the cost premium of heavier ECT grades, making it ideal for cost-conscious high-volume shippers.
How many units can I stack safely with 9x9x5 ECT-32 boxes?
ECT-32 single-wall boxes typically support 4-6 boxes high depending on product weight and warehouse conditions. For maximum stacking performance metrics and load calculations specific to your products, consult our technical specs or contact our B2B team with your average box weight.
Will these boxes reduce my freight and dimensional weight charges?
Yes. The compact 9 x 9 x 5" footprint minimizes cubic footage and dimensional weight surcharges while optimizing pallet utilization, typically reducing per-unit freight costs by 8-15% compared to oversized boxes. Exact savings depend on your current dimensional weight spend and product density.
Are these boxes suitable for hazardous or fragile items?
ECT-32 single-wall kraft boxes are suitable for standard commercial products and light fragile items with proper interior padding. For hazardous materials or high-value fragile goods, we recommend upgrading to our ECT-44 double-wall or reinforced kraft options for enhanced protection and regulatory compliance.
