Common questions
What's the difference between.022 point chipboard and other thicknesses?
.022 point (approximately 22 pt) provides the optimal balance of rigidity and cost-efficiency for envelope stiffening and carton protection. Thicker options add weight and shipping costs, while thinner alternatives lack durability for demanding warehouse and logistics environments.
Can these chipboard pads prevent damage from box cutters?
Yes. When placed as a top layer in cartons, these kraft fibreboard pads absorb impact and resist puncture from standard cutting tools, protecting the contents below while reducing damage claims and return costs.
Are 8 1/2 x 14" pads compatible with standard envelope and carton sizes?
Yes. This size fits standard #10 business envelopes, flat-rate shipping boxes, and most carton dimensions used in e-commerce and commercial packaging, making it the versatile choice for mixed-SKU operations.
How many pads per case and what's the cost per unit?
Each case contains 760 pads, delivering significant per-unit savings compared to smaller quantities. Bulk purchasing from Packrift reduces your overall packaging material costs while ensuring consistent supply for high-volume operations.
