Common questions
How long do these ice packs stay cold?
Cooling duration depends on ambient temperature, insulation quality, and product load. Typically, Ice-Brix® packs maintain freezing temperatures for 24 - 48 hours in standard insulated shippers. For exact performance data relevant to your application, contact our packaging specialists.
Are these packs compliant with shipping regulations?
Yes. Ice-Brix® Biodegradable Packs meet IATA, USPS, UPS, and FedEx requirements for non-hazardous cooling agents. They comply with FDA food contact guidelines and are ideal for regulated pharmaceutical and food logistics.
What makes these different from standard ice packs?
Unlike conventional polyethylene gel packs, Ice-Brix® packs are manufactured with biodegradable polyethylene film that fully degrades into water, carbon dioxide, and biomass with zero toxic residue. This eliminates landfill waste and environmental liability while maintaining identical cooling performance.
Can we refreeze and reuse these packs?
Yes. Ice-Brix® packs are fully refreezable and can be cycled multiple times before disposal, extending ROI and reducing packaging costs per shipment. Proper storage below 86°F ensures consistent performance across 12 months of shelf life.
