Common questions
Will a boxy or bulky item fit in this 16x14x36" bag?
The listed size is 16x14x36" — the gusseted sides fold out so the bag can open to its listed depth and sit around blockier items. Plan for contents slightly smaller than the nominal size — the usable interior runs a bit under the listed measurement once the bag takes shape around what you load into it.
How does 4 mil compare with lighter or heavier film?
A mil is one-thousandth of an inch, so 4 mil film is 4/1000" thick — 4 mil film, for example, is twice the film thickness of 2 mil. Heavier film of the same material stands up to punctures and rough handling better; lighter film costs less per bag and packs tighter. This listing's material is specified as Low-Density Polyethylene (LDPE), 4 Mil.
Can a nearby size or thickness replace PB1831?
Not as an exact replacement. The closest sizes in this line are 15x9x24" and 18x14x36" (same 4 mil film), and the same 16x14x36" size is also stocked in 1.5 and 2 mil. Before switching, match the listed dimensions, 4 mil thickness, and case count — then reorder by exact SKU PB1831.
How do I close these bags, and how do they ship? And can I use them for food?
These are open-top bags — close them with a heat sealer, bag tape, twist ties, or staples, whichever fits your workflow. This listing is sold as one case of 100 bags — roughly $1.08 per bag at the current case price (confirm the live price before ordering). Orders ship from Packrift's five US warehouse regions (Central IL, NE PA, S TX, SE GA, and W CA); delivery options and timing are shown at checkout. On food use: the film is Low-Density Polyethylene (LDPE), 4 Mil, a material commonly used in food packaging, and the manufacturer spec sheet for this item lists "Certifications: FDA and USDA Compliant". Food-contact compliance is still certified per product lot, so check the spec sheet or contact us for lot documentation before direct food contact.
