Common questions
What products fit safely in 6 x 8.5" shrink bags?
These bags accommodate DVDs, CDs, software boxes, small electronics, cables, gaming accessories, and promotional items. Maximum product thickness depends on item density; pre-test with your specific products to ensure proper shrink fit and carrier compliance.
Do I need special equipment to shrink these bags?
No. Standard heat guns activate the low-temperature shrink film, no industrial tunnel required. Position the heat gun 6-8 inches from the bag and apply even, rotating heat for 10-15 seconds. Packrift offers heat guns separately if needed.
Are these bags shipping-compliant for all carriers?
100 gauge shrink film meets standard carrier packaging requirements for parcel and LTL shipping. However, verify with your carrier for hazardous materials or specialty services. The clear film allows inspection of contents, supporting carrier security protocols.
What's the cost savings versus printed poly mailers?
Shrink bags eliminate printing costs and customization lead times while providing product visibility and tear resistance. At $0.10-0.15 per unit (case of 500), shrink bags deliver professional protection at 40-60% lower cost than branded mailers for high-volume shippers.
