Common questions
What size items fit in these 16x16" domed shrink bags?
These bags accommodate baskets and items up to 9" in diameter and 16" in height. The domed design provides extra headroom for bulky, irregularly-shaped products. For larger items, verify final dimensions after heat shrinking, as PVC film contracts approximately 10-15% when activated.
Do I need a special heat gun, and which model should I choose?
Yes, activation requires a heat source. Packrift offers two options: the SWSGUN two-temperature model for basic shrinking, or the SWSVAR variable-temperature model for precise control on delicate or specialty items. Both are available separately.
Are these shrink bags food-safe and compliant with shipping regulations?
100-gauge PVC shrink film is suitable for non-food dry goods, promotional items, and general merchandise. For food products, verify FDA compliance with your specific use case. PVC shrink bags meet ASTM and common carrier dimensional standards for e-commerce and retail shipping.
How much do shrink bags reduce shipping costs compared to boxes?
By conforming to your product's actual shape, shrink bags eliminate excess void space that creates dimensional weight surcharges. Typical savings are 20-40% on shipping fees depending on item shape and carrier pricing models. Bulk purchasing by the case (100 bags) also reduces per-unit material costs significantly.
