Common questions
What is the ECT rating and why does it matter for layer pads?
ECT-32 means these pads provide 32 pounds per inch of edge crush test strength. This rating ensures adequate stacking performance for standard multi-layer shipments without over-engineering, reducing costs while maintaining protection. ECT-32 is ideal for mid-weight products and moderate stacking heights common in 3PL and fulfillment operations.
Will these 11 7/8" x 13 7/8" pads fit my standard boxes?
Yes. These dimensions are engineered to fit the most commonly used corrugated box sizes including standard shipping boxes and USPS-compatible cartons. The slight undersize prevents binding while the pads remain fully functional for product separation and protection.
Can I use these pads for envelope stiffening?
Absolutely. The ECT-32 kraft corrugated material is rigid enough to prevent flex and damage in flat mailers while remaining thin enough for standard postal rates. This dual-use functionality increases ROI by reducing SKU count in your packaging inventory.
How many pads will I need per shipment, and what's the cost per pad?
Typical usage is 2-4 pads per box depending on product fragility and box height. Buying in bundles of 100 optimizes unit cost. Request a volume quote to calculate total landed cost for your annual volume, bulk orders qualify for freight discounts and tiered pricing.
