Common questions
What ECT rating means for my shipping operations?
ECT-32 (Edge Crush Test 32) provides 32 pounds of crush resistance per inch of board width, making these pads ideal for standard multi-layer shipments. This rating ensures adequate protection for most B2B product categories while maintaining cost efficiency compared to heavier grades.
Will these pads fit my current box sizes?
The 7 7/8" x 9 7/8" dimension is engineered to fit the most commonly used corrugated box sizes (approximately 8" x 10" boxes). These pads nest cleanly inside standard boxes with minimal waste, maximizing usable product space per shipment.
How do layer pads reduce freight costs?
By enabling safe vertical stacking and preventing product shifting, layer pads allow you to consolidate more shipments per pallet while reducing damage claims. This increases freight density and lowers cost-per-unit, particularly valuable for high-volume distribution operations.
Can I use these pads for envelope stiffening?
Yes, the kraft corrugated material works as an effective envelope stiffener for flat goods, documents, and lightweight products. Their rigid construction protects contents during handling while maintaining a professional appearance in direct-to-consumer shipments.
