The tables cover open-top bags 1 to 6 mil thick, from 2 x 3 to 38 x 64 in, plus zip, slider, gusseted and polypropylene bags. Each row shows bags per case, case price, price per bag, case weight and stock, with an Add button for one case.

How to choose food bags
Size
Sizes read width by length, in inches. Width is the open end, and length runs from the opening to the bottom seal. Add the food's thickness to its width and to its length, then leave room at the top to twist, tape or seal the bag. Gusseted sizes read width by gusset by length.
Thickness
Thickness is in mil, and one mil is 0.001 in. The listings describe each thickness of open-top polyethylene bag this way.

Other 2 mil sizes are on 2 mil poly bags, and 4 mil open-top bags are on 4 mil poly bags. Most of those listings also state FDA and USDA specifications.
Closure and film
- Open top: every bag in the three flat tables is listed as 100% virgin polyethylene film.
- Zip and slider: the 6 mil zip bags run from 2 x 3 to 16 x 18 in, and the listings call them puncture resistant and reusable. The 12 x 16 in bag is 3 mil with a slider. Zip bags in 2 and 4 mil are on 2 mil reclosable bags and 4 mil reclosable bags.
- Gusseted zip: the 4 x 2 x 6 and 10 x 3 x 12 in bags close with a double track zipper. The listings say the gusseted bottom lets bottled liquids and dry packaged foods stand upright.
- Polypropylene: high clarity film that the listings call moisture, grease and vapor resistant. The 16 x 20 in bag has a peel-off strip that folds to seal.
Buying food bags by the case
Every price in the tables is for one case. Price per bag is the case price divided by the bags in the case.
Volume pricing applies at checkout: 3% off orders of 3 or more items and 5% off orders of 6 or more. A few sizes get a higher rate, and the cart shows it. Orders of one or two items get free ground shipping in the US at $99 or more when the checkout shipping charge is $29.95 or less. Orders of one or two items with a product subtotal of $500 or more ship free when the checkout freight rate is $120 or less. Orders of three or more items get the volume discount instead of free shipping.
For pallet quantities, a standing monthly order or a mix of sizes, send a bulk quote with the SKUs, case counts and delivery ZIP. The quote prices freight for the whole order.
Food bag questions
Are all plastic bags food safe?
No. FDA rules set which plastics may touch food, and polyethylene and polypropylene fall under 21 CFR 177.1520. Every bag in these tables is listed as meeting FDA and USDA specifications or requirements. The listings note that food-contact compliance is certified per product lot, so ask support for the lot documents before the bags touch food.
What plastic are these food bags made of?
The bags in the three flat tables and the zip, slider and gusseted bags are polyethylene, and the flat ones are listed as 100% virgin film. Three bags in the last table are polypropylene, which the listings describe as high clarity film.
How many food bags come in a case?
From 100 to 5,000. Most sizes up to 18 in wide pack 1,000 to a case, and wider sizes pack 100 to 500. The 5 x 7 and 5 x 12 in polypropylene bags pack 5,000 and 2,000. The Bags per case column gives the count for every row.
Do you have large food bags?
Yes. The large bag table runs from 13 in wide up, in 1 to 6 mil. The biggest open-top bags are 38 x 64 and 38 x 54 in at 1.5 mil and 36 x 60 in at 2 mil.
How do you seal a food bag without a zipper?
The listings for the open-top polyethylene bags name twist ties, bag tape and impulse sealers. The 5 x 7 and 5 x 12 in polypropylene bags seal with a crimper hand sealer. The 16 x 20 in polypropylene bag needs no heat sealer.
