Common questions
What does ECT-32 mean and why does it matter?
ECT (Edge Crush Test) 32 indicates the box can withstand 32 pounds of crushing force per linear inch of edge, standard for single-wall corrugated. This rating ensures safe stacking on full pallets and protects contents during transit without heavy-gauge material costs.
How do these boxes compare to mailing tubes in cost and performance?
Corrugated boxes offer 40-60% cost savings versus rigid mailing tubes while delivering equal or better crush protection. The 6 x 6" footprint also packs 3-4 boxes per level on a pallet versus tubes, cutting freight per unit and storage footprint.
Can I stack these boxes on a full pallet without damage?
Yes. ECT-32 single-wall corrugated safely supports full-height pallet stacks (typically 48-60 boxes per pallet depending on weight distribution). Test with your specific product to confirm, but most tall items under 20 lbs per box stack reliably.
Do you offer different ECT ratings for heavier items?
Yes. For items exceeding 25 lbs or requiring double-wall strength, Packrift stocks ECT-44 and ECT-48 variants in the same 6 x 6 x 72" dimensions. Contact our team for custom quotes on heavier-duty specifications.
