About this item

3M 4737T fine line masking tape delivers precise paint break lines on metal and plastic surfaces in transportation OEM production environments. Common questions
Will this tape maintain adhesion on plastic surfaces in a high-speed paint line?
Yes. The rubber adhesive formulation is specifically designed for metal and plastic surface compatibility without lifting during transport through automated paint booths. Proper surface prep (cleaning residual oils and dust) ensures optimal adhesion performance.
Can I use this tape at 325°F continuously, or only for short exposures?
This tape withstands 325°F for a maximum of 30 minutes. For longer exposures or higher temperatures, consult Packrift for alternative high-temperature masking solutions. Always verify your specific cure schedule requirements.
Why does the translucent blue backing matter for my packing line?
The translucent design lets operators see the masked surface and substrate through the tape, improving line placement accuracy and reducing misalignment errors. This visibility reduces rework and scrap, particularly on curved or complex part geometries.
How many linear feet can I mask with one case of 3 rolls?
Each case contains 108 linear yards (324 linear feet) of 1-inch-wide tape. For a 1-inch masking line, this covers 324 feet of part perimeter. Adjust calculations based on your actual tape width requirements and part dimensions.
