About this item
SKU VHB946901R — 5 yds. × 5 yds., 5.0 Mil, Clear.
3M™ VHB™ F9469PC double-coated clear tape delivers high shear strength adhesion for smooth metal surfaces without rivets, bolts, or welds. This 5.0 mil, 1 " x 5 yard roll features UV and moisture resistance with a 3 " core for standard dispensers. Temperature-rated -40°F to 300°F for demanding packing line applications.
Common questions
Will this VHB tape work with my existing tape dispenser on the packing line?
Yes. The 3" core is the industry standard size for most automatic and semi-automatic tape dispensers used in case sealing operations. Verify your dispenser specifications, but this tape is designed for use into existing packing line equipment.
How does this tape compare to liquid adhesives and mechanical fasteners for case sealing?
VHB tape eliminates fastening steps, reduces labor costs, and creates a cleaner seal than liquid adhesives without curing time. Its permanent, non-removable bond is stronger than many traditional fasteners while offering consistent performance across temperature and moisture variations typical in warehouse and shipping environments.
What surfaces does this clear VHB tape bond best to?
This formulation is optimized for smooth, flat metal surfaces, the polycoated kraft liner ensures adhesion without bubbling or lifting. For porous or rough substrates, surface preparation (cleaning/priming) may be required; consult the technical data sheet for specific substrate compatibility.
Is this tape suitable for cold storage or outdoor shipping operations?
Yes. The -40°F to 300°F temperature range and moisture/UV/solvent resistance make it ideal for cold chain logistics, outdoor loading docks, and climate-controlled warehouses. The high shear strength ensures the bond maintains integrity despite thermal cycling and humidity exposure.
