Common questions
Are these boxes UN-certified for hazardous material shipping?
Yes. These cartons are certified to UN 4G/Y27.1/S specification and arrive pre-printed with mandatory hazmat warnings and directional arrows, meeting DOT CFR 49 178.601B requirements. However, shipper remains responsible for verifying product compatibility and final closure compliance with applicable regulations.
What is the stacking weight limit, and how does ECT-51 improve freight efficiency?
ECT-51 double-wall construction provides crush strength for safe multi-tier palletization, allowing tighter packing and reduced freight dimensional weight charges. This translates to measurable per-unit savings on LTL and parcel shipments, especially for high-volume operations.
Can I use these boxes for non-hazmat products?
While the structural quality suits general shipping, these boxes carry pre-printed haz mat labeling and UN certification. Using them for non-regulated products creates compliance confusion and potential liability, we recommend our general-purpose corrugated boxes for non-hazmat applications.
How much storage space do flat-shipped cartons save versus pre-assembled boxes?
Flat-ship cartons reduce warehouse storage footprint by up to 80% compared to pre-assembled alternatives. A pallet of 500 flat boxes occupies roughly 12 linear feet of rack space versus 60+ feet for pre-assembled stock, freeing capital for higher-velocity SKUs.
