About this item

Scotch® 373 red carton sealing tape delivers instant adhesion and edge tear resistance for high-volume packing lines. This 2.5 mil polypropylene tape with synthetic rubber adhesive bonds instantly to recycled-content cartons and difficult surfaces. Case of 36 rolls (2 " x 55 yds each), the cost-effective choice for repetitive shipping and storage applications.
Colored carton sealing tape: Good fit for inventory color coding, warehouse routing, carton identification, and ecommerce packing stations. This tape helps fulfillment, warehouse, ecommerce, and shipping teams choose the right carton-sealing tape for hand packing, machine packing, storage, and outbound order workflows.
Common questions
Will this tape adhere to boxes made with 100% recycled cardboard?
Yes. Scotch® 373 tape is specifically engineered to adhere instantly to high-recycled-content cartons without requiring surface preparation. The synthetic rubber adhesive bonds immediately on contact, eliminating adhesion failures common with economy tapes on recycled substrates.
What dispenser equipment is compatible with this 2" tape?
The 3" polypropylene core fits all standard 2-inch tape dispensers, including handheld, desk-mounted, and automated packing line applicators. Verify your dispenser accepts 3" cores; most industrial models do. Core diameter ensures smooth feed without jamming on high-speed lines.
How does the 2.5 mil thickness compare to standard 2-mil tape for case sealing?
The extra 0.5 mil thickness provides edge tear and split resistance during rough handling and transit. For high-volume lines processing heavy or oversized cartons, 2.5 mil reduces re-tape incidents by 40%+ compared to economy 2-mil alternatives, lowering labor costs.
Is this tape suitable for cold storage and outdoor shipping?
Yes. The moisture and abrasion-resistant polypropylene backing maintains adhesion in cold environments (down to -40°F) and resists moisture absorption. Ideal for frozen goods, refrigerated distribution, and outdoor storage without performance loss.
