Common questions
What does ECT-32-B mean and why does it matter?
ECT (Edge Crush Test) 32-B indicates your mailer can withstand 32 lbs of crushing force per linear inch. This B-flute corrugation grade is ideal for lightweight shipments, it delivers adequate protection without excess material weight that increases postage fees. Use for items under 2 lbs.
How does one-piece design reduce fulfillment costs?
Workers simply fold the pre-scored mailer and tuck flaps, no tape, glue, or staples required. This eliminates material waste and cuts packing labor by approximately 40% versus traditional tape-sealed boxes. At scale, savings compound across thousands of units monthly.
What items should NOT go in 8x6x3 mailers?
Avoid heavy items over 3 lbs, sharp objects that may puncture walls, or liquids. While crush-resistant, ECT-32-B is rated for lightweight goods. For heavier products, upgrade to ECT-44-B or larger dimensions.
Are these compliant with major carrier dimensional weight pricing?
Yes. At 8x6x3", your dimensional weight is 1 lb, well below standard DIM thresholds (typically 5,184 cu in / 166 = ~31 lbs). This maximizes postage savings versus oversized packaging, critical for margin optimization on low-cost items.
