Common questions
What is the ECT rating and why does it matter for my operation?
ECT-32 (Edge Crush Test) means each mailer resists 32 pounds of crush force per linear inch, sufficient for stacking up to 5 layers high on warehouse shelves. This rating balances protection with minimal weight, reducing per-unit dimensional weight surcharges on UPS, FedEx, and USPS.
How much time do we save with fold-and-tuck versus tape-sealed boxes?
Fold-and-tuck mailers require 8, 12 seconds per box versus 20, 30 seconds for tape-sealed alternatives. At 500+ daily shipments, your team saves 1.5, 2 hours per shift, translating to $15,000‚$25,000 annual labor savings per fulfillment operator.
Are these mailers compatible with standard automated packing lines?
Yes. The 9" x 3" x 2" format feeds smoothly through most semi-automated and manual packing stations. Pre-scored fold lines ensure consistent opening and closing, supporting pack speeds of 30+ units per minute.
What items should NOT be shipped in a 9x3x2 corrugated mailer?
Avoid items exceeding 2 pounds, products requiring climate control, or goods sensitive to compression. For heavy or hazardous items, upgrade to heavier ECT ratings (40, 48) or rigid boxes. Always test a sample shipment with your specific product before full-scale deployment.
