Packing List Envelopes
Packing list envelopes, also called packing slip pouches, hold the packing slip or invoice on the outside of the carton. Clear and printed styles run from 4 x 3 to 12 x 15 inches, 500 or 1,000 to a case. Each row shows the case price, price per envelope, case weight and stock, and adds one case to the cart.

How to choose packing list envelopes
Clear face or printed face
A clear face shows the whole document, so the receiver can read the packing slip without opening the pouch. The clear envelopes in the first table list no printed message. The table also lists back loading, tamper proof and resealable clear styles. Back loading envelopes take the document in through the back, so it goes in before the envelope is pressed onto the carton.
Printed envelopes carry a message on the face. The tables cover Packing List Enclosed in orange, red, yellow, blue and green, Invoice Enclosed, and prints for safety data sheets, certification, certificates of compliance, export documents and hazardous waste, plus bilingual English and French and USA flag designs.
Size the envelope to the folded document
The listed size is the envelope itself, and the seams take up part of it. Fold the document the way it ships, then pick a size larger in both directions. The table shows the smallest sizes on this page with at least 1/2 inch to spare each way.

Where a listing states the opening, it runs along the first number in the size. The 7 x 5.5 inch envelopes that state it open along the 7 inch side. The 4.5 x 6 and 5.5 x 10 inch envelopes that state it open along the short side.
Buying by the case and pallet
Every price is for one full case. Most sizes come 1,000 to a case. The 10.75 x 6.75, 8.5 x 10.5, 9 x 12, 9.5 x 12, 10 x 12, 9 x 14 and 12 x 15 inch sizes come 500 to a case.
Volume pricing comes off at checkout: at least 3% at 3 or more items in the cart and at least 5% at 6 or more, and cases from different rows count together. Orders of one or two items with a product subtotal of $500 or more ship free when the checkout freight rate is $45 or less, or $90 or less on orders of $1,000 or more. Orders of three or more items get the volume discount instead of free shipping. Checkout shows the freight for your address before you pay. Orders ship to street addresses in the contiguous United States.
For pallet quantities, a standing monthly order or a mix of sizes and prints, send the SKUs, case counts and delivery ZIP on a bulk quote. The quote prices freight for the whole order.
Common questions
What size packing list envelope do I need?
Pick a size larger than the folded document in both directions. A letter sheet folded in quarters is 4.25 x 5.5 inches and has 1/2 inch to spare in a 5 x 6 envelope and in larger sizes such as 7 x 5.5. A flat letter sheet goes in a 9 x 12 or larger envelope.
What is the difference between a packing list and a packing slip?
The two names are often used for the same document, a list of what is in the shipment. An export packing list also gives the weight and measurements of each package. Either one goes in the same envelope, so size the envelope to the folded paper.
What should a packing list include?
The International Trade Administration describes an export packing list as an itemized list of the goods in each box or pallet, with weights and measurements. It notes the list can go on the outside of the package with a copy inside, which is the job these envelopes do.
What does Packing List Enclosed mean?
It is the message printed on the envelope face. It tells the receiver the packing list is in the pouch on the outside of the carton. Invoice Enclosed, Certification Enclosed and the other prints work the same way for their documents.
What kind of envelope is best for sending documents with a shipment?
Use a clear face when the receiver needs to read the document without opening the pouch. Use a printed face when the paperwork has to stand out on the carton. For a safety data sheet or a certificate, pick the print that names it so receiving knows what is inside.
